Strawberries are loved for its color, juicy texture and sweetness. Relish it in pies, smoothies, chocolates or this healthy sweet strawberry yogurt (shrikhand) from VegRasoi.com.
|Serves: 2-3||Cooking Time: ~5-6 hours|
¼ pack strawberries (4 0z / 100 grams) (part pureed in a food processor and diced)
4 cups yogurt / curd
2 tbsp sugar
Take a sieve and place a cloth into it. In addition place the sieve with the cloth on an empty container to drain most of all the water from the yogurt. Now pour the yogurt on the cloth into the sieve and place a lid to cover the sieve. Let the yogurt drain the entire water for about 5-6 hours.
Further remove the drained yogurt in a bowl. Add the sugar and whisk to smooth texture. Mix the pureed and diced strawberries to the yogurt. Finally refrigerate for an hour before serving. Relish the sweet strawberry yogurt / shrikhand.
- You can alternatively take the yogurt in a cloth and tie this to kitchen faucet / tap rather than follow the above process to drain the yogurt. This way the yogurt would drain the water fast and well.
- Add halved cashews to the sweet strawberry yogurt / shrikhand for nutty flavor!
